Town Legal LLP is a limited liability partnership registered in England and Wales with registered number OC413003. The term partner is used to refer to a member of Town Legal LLP. A list of members of Town Legal LLP is available for inspection at 10 Throgmorton Avenue, London, EC2N 2DL, our registered office.

References here and elsewhere on this website to ”the firm”, “we”, “us” or “our” mean Town Legal LLP.

Town Legal LLP is authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (the “SRA”) under SRA reference 632205. The SRA’s rules are available from www.sra.org.uk/solicitors/standards-regulations/. The SRA regulates all those who work for the law firms it authorises. Lawyers practising other than as solicitors of England and Wales are also regulated by their relevant regulatory body.

Client satisfaction
We aim to provide high quality legal advice and client care. If you are concerned about any aspect of our services or our bills, please speak to the partner responsible for the matter to which your concerns relate, or to another partner if you consider that more appropriate. If this does not resolve your concerns and you wish to make a formal complaint, please contact the Managing Partner to obtain a copy of the procedures which we will follow to resolve your complaint.

If you are not satisfied with the outcome of our complaints procedure, you may be able to ask the Legal Ombudsman to consider your complaint. You can contact the Legal Ombudsman by email enquiries@legalombudsman.co.uk, telephone 0300 555 0333 or by post PO Box 6806, Wolverhampton, WV1 9WJ. Access to the Legal Ombudsman is subject to eligibility criteria and time limits which are explained in our complaints policy.

If your concern relates to one of our bills, you may also have the right to apply to court for an assessment of the bill under Part lll Solicitors Act 1974. You should be aware though that the Legal Ombudsman may not consider your complaint if you make an application to court.

Privacy policies

Anti-bribery and corruption
We have zero tolerance of bribery and corruption in all our business relationships. We require those with whom we have business relationships to have equivalent policy and procedures to our own.

Interest policy

Unless we are instructed otherwise, we will deposit client monies in a general client account at Coutts & Co where monies from different clients are pooled. This account is an instant access account. Any money held (other than for the payment of professional disbursements) will accrue or be subject to interest at Coutts & Co’s rates from time to time. We will, for positive interest, account to and, for negative interest, charge our clients for sums in lieu of interest calculated at the rate available, or charged, to Town Legal LLP for that account for the period that the client monies are held. However, no sum in lieu of interest will be paid or charged if the total sum is less than £50.

If a client instructs us to place client monies on a term deposit, we will open a separate designated account and any interest earned or charged on that account will be paid, or charged, to the client in full. Monies placed on a term deposit will not be available to the client until the end of the term specified.
